Hi there!

I’m Jac, an avid camper, hiker & road-tripper based in Queenstown, New Zealand.

I created this website to share my love of New Zealand and to help others plan epic road trips around NZ (and to put my English degree to use, ha!).

I’m originally from Santa Cruz, California but have lived in New Zealand for almost a decade along with my partner, Ty, who works in the outdoor apparel industry. 

We love to spend time together in nature on hikes, in our kayaks, & on the slopes, and Ty is also a surfer & fly-fisherman.

We thought we’d try living in New Zealand for just a year, but we loved it so much that we now get to call it home (and I’m grateful every day for that).

We lived in the North Island (in Auckland & Wellington) for a combined total of 5 years before moving to Queenstown, where we now live permanently.

Throughout my years of living in New Zealand, I’ve spent every possible weekend and holiday on road trips around the country. 

I’ve visited pretty much every corner of NZ, and have so many gems to share with you!

While this website has a focus on outdoor activities and road trips, I also love finding local cafes, restaurants, breweries/wineries, and small food producers along my travels. I’m also a sucker for a good farmer’s market or roadside produce stall. So, you’ll also find lots of tips for where to eat, drink, and purchase local food all across New Zealand.

I only write about places I’ve actually visited and know well. Authenticity and honesty are really important to me.
